Triple Double Basketball Academy provides elite basketball training for youth basketball players to improve their fundamental skills in all aspects of basketball. Founded by Duncan Reid, the current captain of the Hong Kong National Basketball Team, we strive to create a competitive and encouraging environment for youth basketball players in Hong Kong, and opportunities to learn from a wide variety of professional coaches that have played basketball at a high level. FAQ

When does your academy officially start and end during the year?

Our academy runs all year long with our beginner basketball class for all ages (8am - 10am every Saturday), and also our advanced basketball class for (12-16 year old) boys class every Saturday from (10am - 12pm). We do have youth teams in our academy that compete in local basketball leagues, and our teams practice every Monday and Wednesday(5pm-7pm) on the 11th floor at South China Athletic Association.

Where are your class venue’s located?

All of our classes are located on the 3rd and 11th floor basketball training courts at South China Athletic Association, 88 Caroline Hill, Causeway Bay.

Do you offer 1 on 1 personal training sessions?

We do offer 1 on 1 personal training at our academy. We currently host our private training sessions on the smaller 3 on 3 courts located on the 10th floor at South China Athletic Association and our sessions last 1 hour long.

Coaching Staff

Duncan Reid 惠龍兒

Director

Currently is the only professional Hong Kong basketball player playing in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for the Zhejiang Chouzhou Golden Bulls. The reigning back to back MVP of the Hong Kong Division 1 basketball, grew up in (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) and played university basketball in Canada before joining the famous South China Athletic Association Basketball Club. He has been the Captain of the South China Basketball team for the last 3 years and South China Athletic Association has won back to back (2016, 2017) championships with SCAA for the Hong Kong Division 1 basketball league including a perfect season in 2017 with a 21-0 record.

Nathan Yu 余理洋

Director

Currently playing professional basketball for South China Athletic Association in Hong Kong. Co/captained SCAA to back to back Championships in 2016 & 2017. Nathan is originally from Canada, where he played for the University of British Columbia where he was a 1st team Canada west all-star in 2012, and captained Team Canada to a silver medal in the 2011 FISU Games in Shenzhen, China. Nathan strives to improve players fundamentals in ball-handling and shooting and encourages players to be competitive in all training sessions.

Tommy Nixon 朱亮

Coach

Professional basketball that has recently joined South China Athletic Association in Hong Kong. Tommy is originally from Vancouver, Canada and played his University basketball career with the UBC Thunderbirds. Tommy was a 1st team All-Canadian for the UBC Thunderbirds and also was named to the Canadian Mens National University Team that played in the 2015 FISU games in South Korea. Tommy averaged 20.8 points and 7.9 rebounds Per game in his senior year at UBC in 2014/2015. Tommy is committed in developing young players skills, athleticism, and knowledge to unlock their full potential.
